Can you revert to an older version of a page?
-
Hi,
I have a additional page added to my blog. I was working on it today and click publish. Since then the page is blank and just displays undefined in both the dashboard and the live view of the page.
The page contained loads of information that I am keen to get back. If there a way of reverting to an older version of the page so I can get all the work back?
Thanks
Adrian

You ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needs be. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-revisions/)
See also if applicable > restoring from trash http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trash

Thanks for the information, however, I seem to have am older version of WordPress installed and the revisions button is not available to me.
Any other ideas?

What I posted above applies only to blogs hosted by WordPress.com because this is the WordPress.com support forum. We do not provide support for not for WordPress.ORG software installs. I suspect you are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and different http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

Hello. Are you sure you don’t have the revision button at the bottom of your page?
If it doesn’t show, maybe you didn’t tick the box “revisions” on the screen options.
Go to the page you want to restore – top of the page “screen options” – show on screen “revisions”.Hope that helps and my apologies if I misunderstood.

Thanks so much for NOT providing any answers to WordPress.org support questions here on the WordPress.COM support forums. -
Oh ok. It’s just that when I click on his avatar it shows a wordpress.com blog :

Hello,
Just want to say a big thank you for diverting my attention towards the revisions. Especially Muriellebb that gave me the advice about screen options.
A little disappointed that the help was not given as soon as you realised I was a wordpress.org user – I made a simple error (difference between .org and.com) On the message from timethief you made it sound like the revisions facility does not exist on the installed version of WordPress.
Surely we all want to help each other out .org or .com!

WQe Volunteers here at WordPress.com experiencec that about 30% of those posting hwre some days ought to be posting to the WordPress.org support forums. We observe that when we provided answers to their questions they come back here and bring their friends. Worse still is the fact that WordPress.com users, who we are here to help, become confused and think the wrong answers are the right ones for them when they are not.The sad scenario we can foresee if we pursue your slogan is a WordPress.com support forum full of posts by WordPress.org bloggers, who expect to get support here and those who answer them causing such chaos for WordPress.com users that their support forum is no longer useful to them.
Consequently, we do not provide answers to support question pertaining to WordPress.org sites here and the Volunteers at the WordPress.org support forums do not provide answers to WordPress.com support questions there.
Please be sure that you register at WordPress.org so you can post your future support questions there. http://wordpress.org/support/

P.S. Please overlook the typos in my first sentence above. I’m visually challenged.
Edited version: We Volunteers here at WordPress.com experience that about 30% of those posting here …
