    Curious, which theme? Some themes are available for free in the WordPress.org repo, therefore you may want to set up your site as a standalone WP.org site and then add your theme. I don’t believe you could purchase the theme from WP.com and then migrate it with the Premium theme included, but not entirely certain.

    Yes, there is even a service known as Guided Transfer that can do it for you.

    Premium themes can only be used on WordPress.COM, they can’t be transferred to a WordPress.ORG install. The themes here are highly modified to run here.

    Depending on the theme you might be able to find a theme from the same theme shop that originally developed the theme (some themes started as a theme by a theme shop and were modified by WordPress.COM)
