Can you transfer a .ai domain?

  (1) Curious how to handle a .ai domain name and (2) not ready to publish the site yet — how I can design but not publish?

  You could create a free WordPress.com site initially and then upgrade it to a paid plan to map your domain to that WordPress.com site when you were ready.

  PS: I don’t think a domain with that particular suffix can be transferred to WordPress.com.

  Hi there,

  We don’t support incoming transfers for .ai domains, as we’re not an accredited registrar for that TLD, but you can still use it with a WordPress.com site using our domain mapping option as @themagicrobot said above.

  You can connect the domain whenever you’re ready – you don’t have to do it immediately when you create your site, nor even immediately when you upgrade to a paid plan.
