Canape theme

  suddenly my page has this blue rectangle? square box? just appearing at the bottom of the site, and I haven’t made any changes to the theme or coding at all (obviously, since it’s the free version). i have viewed the site in other devices and they all have this box. is this an issue with the theme Canape, or something I did?

  Hey @pigdeadgenius

  It sounds like you’re referring to the “testimonial” section on the site. If you’re not using this feature, can you please try the following to fully disable it?

  Navigate into the Customizer and than select Theme Options > Front Page and uncheck the box next to “Show Testimonials Section on the Front Page.”

  Make sure to save the changes once you’re done with this.

  Please note you might need to clear out the browser cache to see the changes.

  Thank you so much for the quick response but it’s not what I’m referring to. I have included an image

  

  as you can see there is a blue (empty) box cutting in the middle of the site and it will follow as i scroll up and down.

  Thank you for the clarification, this definitely helped!

  I wasn’t able to replicate the issue on my end via Chrome at first, but I do see it now. This appears to be an issue with widget widget_eu_cookie_law_widget Cookie & Consents Banner

  Although it’s not the same theme, other people have also reported the same issue with different themes.

  It doesn’t look like there’s any timeline on when a fix might be rolling out but it is good to keep an eye on this link

  I will also add a modlook tag on this thread, so Staff is aware of the issue happening on different themes as well.

  Excellent, thank you so much for your help. It’s a relief to know it’s not what I did. Yep, hope that a fix is coming soon. I will change this to resolved.

  @emilijamu – thank you for adding this thread to that GitHub issue.

  
  @pigdeadgenius – yes, the Cookies and Consent banner is taking the same CSS styling set in your theme, namely the blue border for widgets:

  .archive.tax-nova_menu .content-area, .hero-container-inner .hentry, .page-template-menu-page .content-area, .widget, .widget_search input[type=search] {
      border-color: rgba( 111, 169, 220, 0.5 );
  }

  Since there’s that bug, the widget and its border will persist. Nothing you did! :)

  Keep an eye on that GitHub issue for any updates.
