    Canard customization includes both a logo and a tagline. The logo displays fine, but not he tagline.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Not every theme is designed to display a tagline. If t is designed to display one then you will see on on the live demo site https://canarddemo.wordpress.com/

    If not create a header image with the site title and tagline in it, upload it, and suppress the display of header text to resolve your issue.

    Thank you for your suggestion, and I can do that, but just to clarify, are you saying that a theme with tagline box on the customization page may still not be designed to display one?

  • Seems like Canard theme by default doesn’t display the tagline. It has been hidden by a display: none; property.

    The following code will unhide it (requires Premium/Business plan):

    .site-branding .site-description {
    	display: block;
    }

    Paste the above code in Dashboard > Customize > CSS.

  • The advice you’ve gotten from timethief and ehtis above is spot on. If you need further help, just let me know.

    Thanks for that feedback. I’m currently not in a position to bump up my plan. In viewing the description and features of other themes, I’ve found some whose description does not include a tagline [edda] but which have one, others [argent] that, like canard, claim to have the feature, but don’t. I guess you don’t really know until you’ve previewed the theme.

  • All themes, including Argent, support a tagline. Not all, however, display the tagline on the front end. Some, like Argent, display the tagline in the browser’s title bar, which is also picked up in search engine results.

    Whether the tagline is displayed by default on the front end is a decision made by the theme’s designer.

    Looking at the theme’s demo site or previewing the theme are both good ways to determine whether a theme displays the tagline on the front end or not.

    Just let us know if you need further help.

    Thanks for that clarification. I certainly do need further help, but not in this area. I’ll look through the forums and try to find the most appropriate one.

  • Sounds good. If you’re not sure where to post, just let me know.
