Canard theme

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there,
I’ve installed the Canard theme on my blog. I’d like to change the font colour from red to green, I’ve asked in this forum before and was redirected to contact my host provider as my site is self-hosted. I have asked my host provider to look into this and they have advised me “the ‘Colors’ options on theme customization page is not working. The issue is related to your theme. You can contact your theme vendor and check whether there is any issue.” Could you please advise me how about I go about contacting my theme vendor?
    Many thanks,
    Sally

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

From the information you shared, it seems its related to .org sites.

Please share the site URL, if this is regarding to any other site which hosted on wordpress.com?

This is a public forum which provides support only for the sites hosted on WordPress.com.

For cubic theme, feel free to post in its forum at WordPress.org:

    https://wordpress.org/support/theme/cubic

There’s another support forum for WordPress.org self-hosted site, you can navigate to WordPress.org forum using this link:
    https://wordpress.org/support/

    For jetpack support https://jetpack.com/support/

To learn about the difference between the WordPress.com and WordPress.org please refer this article:

For documentation for WordPress.org refer this article:

    Hi there,
    Thanks again for your reply.
I sent an earlier message to say, thank you for the links, and I will be in touch with WordPress.org.
I am now really confused, I have always logged into WordPress.com – which explains why I have been contacting this forum. When I log into WordPress.org, it says there is no user registered with that address?
How have I managed to set up a website if I am not registered with WordPress.org? It seems my site is listed under WordPress.com log in.
    Can you help me please?
    Many thanks,
    Sally

    Hi there,
    Thank you.
I have now registered with WordPress.org and posted the question in their forum.
I would like to get clarification as to how I can update my WordPress.com log in as that is connected to my site: http://www.thetealjournal.com
    Many thanks,
    Sally

  • Hi Sally,

Your site thetealjournal.com is hosted on iPage and you have connected it to your WordPress.com account. By connecting your site to WordPress.com (via the Jetpack plugin) you have extra features like site stats, traffic tools, and protection against security threats.

If you want to learn more you can read this:

    Hi there,
Thank you very much for your clarification.
Can I check, does it matter if my site is connected to WordPress.com or WordPress.org? Except the Jetpack features which I will look forward to reading about, thank you for the link.
    Best wishes,
    Sally

  • Hi Sally,

Your self-hosted WordPress site can only be connected to WordPress.com. if you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org you can read this document:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    Hi there,
    Thank you for your reply.
I’ve received and read that doc a few times, and am still unclear, perhaps you can help me by clarifying. As I understand it, I have a self-hosted site, which is supported by WordPress.org and therefore any questions I have have to be discussed on the WordPress.org forum. And yet, you say my self-hosted site can only be connected to WordPress.com? If my site is connected to the WordPress.com, am I to participate in WordPress.com forums? Why is my self-hosted WordPress site connected to WordPress.com and not .org?
    Many thanks,
    Sally

  • Hi Sally,

WordPress.org is the site where you can download the WordPress software (for free). Then you need to find a hosting provider, upload WordPress, and start building your site. This process is automated by your hosting provider and you can just start creating your site without the need to do any of the above.

If you need help with your site only WordPress.org forums and your hosting provider can help you. The WordPress.com forums provide support for sites hosted here.

As I said, your site is connected to WordPress.com via the Jetpack plugin. If you need help with any of those extra features you can ask over at:

    https://jetpack.com/support/
