Canard Theme: Category featured images and articles

I have successfully deployed the Canard theme on my personal website. The home page shows the featured articles in a mosaic. Each post shows the featured image at the top, when a featured image is used.

The one thing I haven’t figured out is how to have featured articles for a given category. Or, if that’s not possible, at least a featured image for that category. As is, the Canard theme just lists “Category: Investing”, for example. Instead, I would like to have an overview post, which contains a table of contents to other posts, as a sticky post (like the featured articles on the home page). This would permit me to break the chronological order of my category listings.

If anyone has any advice, I would appreciate it.

  • Hi there – it’s not possible to add featured posts for category pages on WordPress.com, as there’s only a single Featured Content tag, so only one set of featured posts is possible.

Since you’re running a self-hosted site, you might be able to do something in a child theme if you’re comfortable with a bit of coding.

These forums are for sites hosted on WordPress.com, but you’re running the WordPress software on your own hosting. If you need further help with the self-hosted version of Canard, feel free to post in its forum at WordPress.org:

You’ll need a free WordPress.org account to post – if you don’t already have one, you can register here:
