Canard theme – change logo size and header spacing, featured image size

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi, I was trying to upload a logo and it was too small and I couldn’t find a way to change the size. Is it possible to enlarge it?

    The logo you see on themoodstylista.com is the image I uploaded on the header, which works for me so far but there is some awkward blank space on top of the logo, which is from the site title I guess. If the logo can not be enlarged on the site title section, is there a way to remove the blank spacing on top of the header image right now?

    As for the featured image on each post, I found that some of the image did not fill out the space assigned and the black surrounded is not very appealing, eg: http://themoodstylista.com/2015/08/03/the-3-lip-exfoliator-that-works-just-as-well-if-not-better-as-the-high-end-ones/
    Is there any way I could enlarge the featured image to fill the space or have the black background removed?

    Any help will be appreciated! Thank you!

    Hi there,

    …but there is some awkward blank space on top of the logo, which is from the site title I guess.

    You are right, that is the site title and tagline area. It is important to have a title and tagline for the search engines. Without one, they will typically not rank your site as high in their search indexes. I would suggest adding them back in and then add the following CSS to hide them from visitors. They will still be there for the search engines though.

    .site-branding {
        display: none;
    }

    Thank you so much for your help! Now it looks so much better!
    There is another issue that I would need your help:
    How can I change the description of the website from search engines? When I Googled my website, the description down below the link wasn’t what I want. Is there a setting that I can change the description?

    With the search engines, the do not always pull what we want from our site as a snippet to go with a link in the search results. I see you have a tagline set at Settings > General in your dashboard. Is that the description you want? If so, it may be 3-6 months before the search engines reindex your site and pick it up, but they should. I’ve never been very successful in getting them to change snippets. I would wait for a while and see what happens.
