Canard theme featured posts are black on homepage for a few seconds

When I open my website, the featured posts appear blank for a few seconds. This is apparently not the best welcome for visitors. Could you please help solve this issue?

That’s how the theme is designed to load. There’s nothing wrong. Take a look at the theme demo for an example: https://canarddemo.wordpress.com/
