Canard Theme: How to get authors name on the post in home

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,
    I want to have the authors name appearing in home for a given article as shown in Canard Demo.

    Ex: In the Canard Theme:
    THEME BUSTERMARCH 17, 2015
    Appears on for every post in the home page.

    This doesn’t appear in my blog: https://cfd-planet.com/
    It shows as: SEPTEMBER 23, 2016LEAVE A COMMENT

    I have gone to themes—>customize—>Theme options and have activated the option: Show author bio on single posts.

    Still it doesn’t seems to be working.

    Any suggestion will be helpful.

    Thanks and regards,
    Ravindra

    Hi Ravindra,

    Canard only displays the name of authors alongside posts on the home page on sites that have more than one user. As you’re currently the only user on your site, your name is not displayed.

    You have two options:

    In case you’re not familiar with CSS: It’s a coding language that’s used across the web to change the appearance of websites.

    To use it to display a link to your author profile alongside posts on the home page, navigate to the CSS panel of the WordPress.com Customizer and paste the following snippet below the introductory text in the resulting editor:

    .byline {
        display: block;
    }

    Hope that helps out! We’re right here if extra questions come up, too.
