Cancel a domain and/or delete blog
-
We have an old domain http://avalonsweden.wordpress.com/ which we can no longer access to delete or delete blog-posts. The user and password we have for this domain does not permit us to access the dashboard to delete in accordance with the instructions that we have found in the wordpress support. We get the following error when trying:
“User missioncarpediem Cannot Access the Dashboard Requested
You are logged in as “missioncarpediem” and do not have the necessary privileges to access the dashboard for “M G Avalon”. If you are not “missioncarpediem”, please log out, and log back in with your username. If you are “missioncarpediem” and you need access, please ask an administrator of the site to invite you.”
We have no other passwords or users to access this domain anymore so we need help on how to delete this completely. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have tagged this for staff assistance. Please subscribe to this thread so when they respond you are notified.

Thanks for replying and tagging staff assistance. We really need to remove this domain/blogposts as the content is really bothering us!

That is what I mean :) They tackle the threads in order received. To get it to them quicker we shouldn’t keep replying in here, otherwise it’ll bump the time stamp down further in the list.

The user and password we have for this domain does not permit us to access the dashboard to delete in accordance with the instructions that we have found in the wordpress support.
Every blog has a sole owner and it is the person with the username account who registered the blog under that username account and associated email account. You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard and delete the blog.
The blog’s owner is the only one who can delete it or transfer the blog to another username account:
adding users http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/
user roles http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-accountStaff do not contact the blog’s owner – you do.
There is only one means of account recovery and you have to recover the account in order to delete the blog.

Ahhh thank you Time Thief. I misread part of the original post which led to me misunderstanding what had happened.

Thanks to both of you. However, we’ve know tried to recover the account and resetting the password using the instructions. However, nothing works and we end up in circular processes…
We initially set-up the account mgengquist.wordpress.com with user mgengquist (and we have the initial API key and URL activation link to prove that we did). However, that account does not exist anymore and we cannot manage to recover the account using the Account recovery form. We end up being redirected to the Loss password form. We are not sure but we may have renamed from mgengquist to avalonsweden.wordpress.com. That account seem to exist with the content that we initially had on mgengquist.wordpress.com. However, we do not have the administrator access anymore to the account. We are not able to resetting a password for either the user mgengquist or avalonsweden. Avalonsweden seem to exist as a user but we do not receive any emails when trying to obtain a new password. We may have been using an email account that we have then closed down and cannot access anymore. Does any of you have any more suggestions on how to solve this problem?

The blog owner (and sole user) for avalonsweden.wordpress.com is not mgengquist or missioncarpediem.
We will need to hear from the user who owns that site before we can modify it in any way. You might try different email addresses you may have used in the password reset tool to see if you can determine which email address you may have used.

Hello jackiedana.
Thanks for your comments. We have been able to determine by trying the password reset tool that the email account that we used was “(email visible only to moderators and staff)”. However, thís is not an email account that we use anymore and we have not any possibility to access that email inbox anymore in order to reset the password. How do we proceed to delete this blog? The blog is not used anymore. -
Hi again,
I’ve sent you an email to continue this discussion as an account recovery matter. Please check the email for your missioncarpediem account.

Hi again
I read your email that you sent. We may have used one of the following emails to set up the account avalonsweden.wordpress.com but have not been able to reset the password by using them and several of these email adresses are not in use by us anymore so we cannot use them. We understand that you have to take security measures but we would very much appreciate if you can guide us further so that we delete this blog. Can you please advice if any of the following email addresses are the one used to set up the account:
(email visible only to moderators and staff)
