cancel a follower

  hi, if i wish to delete someone who is following my blog, and cancel his following. is it possible?..and if so how do i do it.

  No, you cannot prevent someone from following a public blog. That’s what the public designation means. The only way to prevent people from following your blog is to set it to private. Then only people you invite can read your blog, but they’ll have to be wordpress members to do so.

  You can, however, prevent this person from commenting on your site. Under Settings ->Discussion add his username, email and/or blog URL to the blacklist section and his comments will go straight to spam.

  Do not put their IP address in the blacklist. IP addresses are no longer unique, and you might end up blocking legitimate visitors. Also, all they would have to do is go to a wi-fi hot spot, or connect via a different ISP and they could get around that.

  You can add the username and email address to the comment blacklist just don’t add the IP address.

  I actually didn’t lift anything from your post, but I think after reading hundreds of answers from you and raincoaster in particular I’m starting to use the same terminology :-)
