  hi there, i’m trying to close my account but it’s not letting me – are you able to help? I haven’t touched this account/website in years.

  Hi there,

  This is because your account had an active chargeback from when you disputed a renewal payment in 2018. When you dispute a charge, the site in question is locked to any further changes until the dispute is resolved. This includes preventing the site, and by extension the account, from being deleted.

  I see you paid the chargeback fee a little while ago, which has removed the lock, so you should now be able to delete your account.
