Cancel Account

How can I cancel my account with WordPress? I have been billed recently for domain mapping, and have not authorized any transactions. I have also attempted to cancel my account, however when I go to ‘purchases’, the only option offered is to upgrade. I did not ever sign up for domain mapping through WordPress but am being charged $13/month. I don’t use WordPress at all. I simply want to cancel my account and a refund. Thank you.

Hi @alisonfriedman,
WordPress.com accounts cannot be deleted. Although, you can remove all personal information from your site and change your account settings rendering it inactive.
Just be aware that these actions are permanent and cannot be reversed.

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately, it is not helpful. I never signed up for an account with WordPress, as I have no need to. I have been doing business with Bluehost for over 5 years. I did not ever put my debit card information in the system and after finding it was there, I then removed it. After removing my card information (which I still don’t know how it became available to you), I am still being charged. I would like you guys to stop charging me $13/ month. I would like a refund for what you have charged. I never authorized WordPress to access my bank account or take automatic debit. I wish to delete my account as I have absolutely no use for it. If I could speak with somebody over the phone that would be most helpful. Thank you very much.

Thank you for your response. I apologize for the misunderstanding… I am not confused anymore, I am angry. You are charging me illegally for something I never authorized. I hope to be in touch with somebody soon, preferably via phone conversation.

For what it’s worth, it sounds like you have a charge associated with some other account or service, as I can see this account only had a yearly subscription, and you have disputed the payment.
If you can fill out the secure form at wpchrg.com that will help greatly.
