Cancel an unused site with a domain

  • Unknown's avatar

My workplace asked me to create a site last August with a domain and paid for it through my WordPress account. The person who asked for the site and whose credit card I used was fired last August and I am retiring in June and want to delete the site. I have stripped it of all content and made it private, but I really want it to be gone from my account. The domain is convocation2013.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • I can absolutely help you with that.

Just to clarify, if you want to cancel your domain convocation2013.com it can take up to several weeks for our domain registrar to release the domain, and it may not choose to do so. We can’t guarantee that your domain will ever be available to you again once canceled. If you have any intention of using convocation2013.com again in the future, I suggest that you do not choose to cancel.

Please confirm that you understand and want to cancel your domain. Once you have done so, I will cancel it and remove the upgrade from your account.

Please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.

Yes, that’s exactly what I want. The only way I could possibly want that domain again is if I figure out time travel and can go back to 2013. All kidding aside, yes, please do what you can to cancel the domain.

Well, I can do a lot of things to try and engineer happiness around here. But I think that is a little beyond my powers!

I have canceled that domain for you.

If you also would like to delete your WordPress.com site, there are options and instructions for doing so here:
