  I’m trying to stop you from auto renew. I haven’t used this blog yet and want to wait until I get ready to use it.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Heya,

  If you would like to disable auto-renewal, you can do so via the ‘My Upgrades‘ link under your dashboard.

  However, if you want to keep the domain name to use at some point in the future, we’d strongly recommend that you don’t allow it to expire. It can be a difficult and expensive process to retrieve a domain once it has lapsed.

  * Domain expirations don’t happen immediately. Registrars have a grace period of 30–-90 days during which they’ll hold on to the domain and give the owner a chance to renew it after it’s expired. The domain isn’t usable by anyone else during this period, and it wouldn’t be pointing to your site during this time either.

  * Once that grace period is up, there is a good chance that the domain could get purchased by someone else before you have a chance to re-register it, in the hopes that they can charge you more to get the domain back.
