Cancel automatic renewal

  • Unknown's avatar

Our website has been modified to use squarespace rather than WordPress and the domain changed over. However, I have automatic renewal set up on WordPress. I assumed the automatic renewal would not ‘happen’ as the account under WordPress had been inactive, as was suggested in another post question/answer, but I was charged for renewal.

How do I cancel if I am unable to get into the domain using WordPress?!?!?!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

What is the name of the domain you were charged for? There are no upgrades under the account you contacted us from. To verify ownership, if you can post here from the account associated with the upgrade, I can take a look and assist you with disabling auto renew.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!

Thanks Darnell. The domain is hhyzambia.org.

Oh, and it wasn’t an upgrade for which I was charged, it was a renewal. I don’t know if that makes a difference.

  • Hi there,

hhyzambia.org is hosted by Squarespace and the nameservers are pointed to Bluehost, according to whoishostingthis:

    http://www.whoishostingthis.com/?q=hhyzambia.org

Therefore, the charges did not come from us because the domain isn’t hosted here.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!

The hosting was changed from WP in the time period between the automatic renewal and the actual renewal date. I am not disputing the charge that was made on the automatic renewal — I neglected to shut off the automatic renewal in anticipation of this change (we were basing our deployment to fall before the actual renewal date).

I just wanted to be sure there wasn’t something else I needed to do to shut off the automatic renewal so I wouldn’t be charged again next year. From your answer, it sounds like that won’t happen, so I will mark this concern closed. Thanks!

  • Hi there,

That is correct, everything fine on this end here. You won’t be charged for a renewal.

    Thanks!
