  I don’t use my domain name anymore how can I turn off automatic renewal before i’m charged for another 12 months? Thank you

  Hi there!

  You can avoid losing a domain by ensuring that it is set to auto renew. Visit Purchases, click the domain, and check the auto renew status.

  If you see “SUBSCRIPTION EXPIRES ON” your domain is not set to renew automatically. You can enable Auto Renew by clicking Add Payment Method and saving your payment information.

  Thank you for your help,

  I had already looked at purchases but it says I have none. I’m confused as at the bottom of my blog it says proudly powered by WordPress. My domain ends in .com. I remember something about using a host.

  I started this blog a year ago for a sailing trip and thats over now and I don’t want to use it anymore. I want to cancel automatic renewal ( if I set that) and don”t mind if I need to cancel web address, but I dont want to go on paying yearly.

  I would like to keep the page contents and I followed some instructions, that but realised I can only view it again ( with pictures) if I import it into another webpage, can I do that to a free one, can you recommend one?

  Thank you for your patience, I guess these must be silly questions.

  What is the domain you’re trying to cancel? There are no sites at all in this WordPress.com account, and this account has never owned an upgrade with us.

  Thanks for helping out. For future reference, it’s always better to first confirm the site/domain the user is speaking of before giving an answer. Sending someone to Purchases won’t help them if the upgrade belongs to a different account or if the domain is perhaps not even registered here.

  Thanks for the domain.

  That domain is not connected to any site or account on WordPress.com, but appears to have been registered with Bluehost.com. You’ll need to contact them to cancel that domain.

  You likely then also have a hosting account with them where you’ve been using the self-hosted WordPress.org software for your site. That’s something completely separate and different from WordPress.com.
