I am told to go to tools, delete blog in dashboard, choose reason, and then hit delete now. I cannot get past dashboard. Could you please help me delete as I will not be blogging? Can the $26.00 be reimbursed to me?
    Thank you.

    Hi there,

Would you like to cancel the domain name kareningallsblog.com? Please keep in mind that canceling a domain means you give up ownership of that domain name and can’t use it anymore, here or elsewhere. The domain name may not be released immediately, and there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to register it again in the future.

If you’d like to keep the domain and use it somewhere else, you can Move Your Domain to Another Host.

If you’re sure you want to cancel that domain and stop using it completely, let me know and I can cancel and refund that for you.

Yes, I want to cancel the domain name, membership, and blog. I understand I might not be able to use that domain name again. Thank you for your help in canceling and getting any refund to me.

    Hi Karen,

Thanks for confirming! I canceled that domain name for you, and issued a full refund. (It may take some time for that refund to appear on your bank statement, but you can find the refund receipt now in your Billing History.)

You can now delete that blog permanently from the bottom of your blog’s General Settings screen. Please read the messages and warnings carefully during that process, and let me know if I can do anything more to help.

    Please help!

I’m having exactly the same issue. I’ve been trying for two days to delete my site and have even had to set up this new account as I couldn’t access the forums from my previous account.

I’ve tried deleting the site from tools in the dashboard but there’s no option to delete. I’ve cleared all the content but that’s as far as I can get.

I bought my domain name through 123reg and want to use it elsewhere and thus delete my wordpress site.

Can someone please help me? The site is: thewoodstockchiropractor.com

Please contact me through here or at: (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    Thank you.

thewoodstockchiropractor.com – is not hosted on WordPress.COM – the name servers do not point to WordPress.COM and their is no Domain Mapping for that name – –

The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.

This site is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM. You should address your questions to WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using: http://wordpress.org/support/

The forum at WordPress.ORG is not connected to WordPress.COM so you will need to open an account at .ORG if you do not already have one. You may use the same email at WordPress.ORG as you do at WordPress.COM.

For more on the difference: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you are asking for help with a WordPress.COM site then we need a link to that site to give you accurate help.

This is most likely because I have repointed my DNS settings to my other site. I still wish to cancel my account and not be billed further for my subscriptions. I cannot seem to be able to find this or action a cancellation. I would like my account cancelled so I don’t have to continue to pay for a service I am no longer using (I’ve been a member less than 30 days). Thank you

Hi mjschiro, the domain thewoodstockchiropractor.com is not registered at WordPress.com or linked to a WordPress.com account, so as far as I can tell there is no associated WordPress.com subscription that you or anyone else is being charged for that site. If you purchased website hosting from another website provider, you will need to contact them directly for assistance. If you purchased an upgrade from a different WordPress.com account, you’ll need to log in to that account and head to your My Upgrades page to manage that upgrade (or use the contact form while logged in to that account).

If you’d like to continue this conversation with your mjschiro account, please start a new forum thread so we can continue helping without mixing up your questions with the original question and site in this forum thread. Thanks!

    Rachel,

Unfortunately I cannot access the ‘my upgrades’ section. I cannot gain access. I just want to make sure I’m not being charged by wordpress for a service I will not use. I set up this account because I couldn’t gain access to the forum to discuss issues relating to the aforementioned site (thewoodstockchiropractor.com). If you can confirm that this site is not costing anything and is deleted or you can delete then thats perfect. Thanks

HI, I just opened an account and would like to cancel and receive a refund please. I would like to use my domain http://www.curesoaps.com again to be hosted on another site. Could you please contact me with next steps please.
    Thanks you,
    Katie

Hi Katie (curesoaps) — To avoid confusion with the original question in this forum thread, please use the contact form or start a new forum thread about this so we can help you separately. Thanks!

    Hi,

I set up an account, but now I think I didn’t need to? I opened the account, then I used cPanel to import WordPress scripts. confused…

  • @alogginshull
It sounds like you might be in the wrong forum. cPanel is only used with self-hosted sites, which would mean you’re using the WordPress.org softare, not the WordPress.com blogging platform. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and different: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

So, you don’t need a WordPress.com account, unless you want to make use of the Jetpack plugin to get some of the WordPress.com features on your self-hosted site. See: http://jetpack.me/support/

Otherwise, for help with your self-hosted site, please visit the WordPress.org support forum for assistance as we won’t be able to help you here: http://wordpress.org/support/ If you don’t already have a username on that forum, click the register button in the upper right corner so you can post in that forum.
