  I want to cancel my blog and there is not an option to delete the site in Tools > Delete Site. It says you cannot cancel because there is a private domain registration. When I go to Store > My Upgrades, there is no button to “Cancel Link” in Subscription Status. Please advise.

  Hi there!

  To delete your site (which has a domain upgrade) you’ll need to do one of the following:

  – Move the domain upgrade to another WordPress.com site first.

  – Transfer the domain registration to another domain registrar.

  – Fully cancel the domain, meaning you will lose the ownership of the domain and there is no guarantee you can register it again.

  Let me know which one of these options you’d prefer and I can point you in the right direction.

  After the custom domain is unlinked from the site, you can use the site deletion tool to permanently remove the site. Here’s a bit more information about that:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/delete-site/

  Please make sure to read the warnings and advice before deleting a site. We can’t revert the deletion of a site for any reason.

  I want to fully cancel the domain. I know how tools > “delete site” works. I just can’t do it. I haven’t got the username and password info for the domain (the site is old and passwords haven’t been archived and kept) and need a work-around.
