Cancel does not show up for domain teleioseducation.com. I do not wish to renew, I really need to cancel / RELEASE this domain name but I’m not getting that option. How do I do this? Can you please cancel/release this domain immediately.

Btw, I adjusted the site to private mode only. Made the wordpress site as primary (teleioseducation.wordpress.com). Still not showing Cancel as option.
Also, can someone answer the question as to how long it takes to propagate a change such as this?

Set to private is pretty quick – I am locked out of http://teleioseducation.wordpress.com/
You say “release” domain name – is that so you can use it somewhere else? When a domain is canceled it can take a while to be released and is sometimes put up for auction or sold to someone – if you want it used elsewhere it should be transferred
Domain renewals are not refundable – to stop any further charges to to
Dashboard >> Store >> My Upgrades >> Make sure the Auto Renew is not enabled – then you will not be charged again
I will flag this for staff attention if you need additional help – they work the requests from oldest to newest based on the last time this thread was posted into

Auto Renew is turned off, it expired October 28th. And, yes, I am essentially trying to cancel the domain registration so I could register it with Google Apps for Business and ENOM Domain Registration.
I have another site already setup on Google Sites, http://www.teleioseducation.net for the moment but need to get the .com over.
I inherited this from someone else, they added me as administrator of this domain (.com) but I have not seen an option to cancel or transfer?

Then canceling is the WORST thing to do – the domain name stops working for a while and might be grabbed by a squatter and held hostage
you need to transfer the upgrade to you then you can either change the name servers to work with Google Apps or transfer the domain name to them
It sounds like they did not transfer the ownership of the Upgrades to you need to contact the upgrade owner and have them transfer the upgrade to you – the upgrade owner can have the staff transfer the upgrade by logging into this thread with the account that owns the upgrade – then with small clear words ask for specific upgrades to be transfereed from them to your account – please have them call out your specific account name

Thanks for your help. The former admin told me that he had “released” the domain. I was not sure what he was talking about but it sounds like he might have cancelled yet the WHOIS information and site works if I revert it back to public – which is odd actually.
What about Site Redirect? I see that as an option under STORE. If I redirect the site, would that work as a temporary measure until I can get this person to respond. It can take days for him to respond. He told me on Sunday that he had “released the domain and to wait a couple of hours”.
I’m very familiar with Google Sites/Google Apps for Business. Just not very familiar with WordPress so my apologies but just repeating what I was told.

teleioseducation.com – is not set to private registration so probably canceling the private registration is what they did
Site redirect is for your-site.wordpress.com to your-new-site.com – I think trying a site redirect would be bad since all the site redirect is send traffic to a new URL with the address changed to match the new URL (so the Posts and such will go to the right place and no broken links)
But you would still need teleioseducation.com at Google Apps for the site redirect to work – so I think you are sort of stuck for a few days

It looks like the domain teleioseducation.com expired 18 days ago. The best course of action would be to immediately attempt a renewal of this domain before it falls into redemption, which will cost an additional $80 to renew. From there, you could then transfer the domain registration to Enom or another registrar if you wished, or just point the domain to a new hosting provider.
Please note that we are right at the edge of the redemption period, so time is of the essence.
Like auxclass mentioned, it would be risky to let the domain expire fully as it’s possible someone else could purchase the domain in a domain auction before it was released, and this process could take at least a month to complete.
However, the domain upgrade is owned by a different WordPress.com user, so that user will need to log in to renew the domain or post here and request that we transfer it to you.
