  Since michelewriter.com seems to have been in use for a while – canceling the domain will break all the old links and bookmarks –

  My opinion would be to work with your new host and change the name servers to point to your new host and have michelewriter.com mapped to your new domain name michelewmiller.com/ but with michelewriter.com set as a secondary domain name so that michelewmiller.com/ is displayed in the browser window of visitors.

  That will help to reduce lost traffic and train search engines and such that you have a new address

  The domain michelewriter.com appears to be owned by a different WordPress.com user. If that’s also your account, please log out of zombierecovery1 and log back in under the correct username, and confirm your request to cancel the domain, and I’ll be happy to assist you.

  Also please note that once a domain has been cancelled, it may not be available to register again later, so if you plan to use it elsewhere, auxclass’ advice would be good advice to follow.
