I don’t know how to cancel my domain. It ends in february but I’d like it to end as soon as possible. Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
I can cancel it for you. Once cancelled, it cannot be used elsewhere and can take quite a bit of time before it returns to the marketplace. If you’d like to use the domain name elsewhere, we should transfer it—not cancel it.
If you’d like to proceed with the cancellation, please let me know and I’ll take care of it for you. Cheers!

Hi,
I would like to use it somewhere else. At namecheap.com or something similar. How long does it takes before it is on another registrar? Thanks!

Hope you had a great weekend.
Typically, it takes no more than 5 days from start to finish. We have instructions for our side of it at Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar.
The basic checklist is to:
- Disable Private Registration at WordPress.com
- Unlock the domain and request the EPP/Authorization code
- At namecheap, or elsewhere, begin the process for the transfer. Some will ask for the authorization code at this point, others later in the process.
- You should get an e-mail notifying you about the transfer, giving you the option to cancel it.
- It varies from registrar to registrar, but typically within 5 days it’ll go into effect—this delay gives time to notify either registrar that the transfer wasn’t authorization/unintended
Details are at the link above; if anything there doesn’t make sense, please let me know.
Once transferred, the domain will still point to WordPress.com, but you can change the nameservers at Namecheap.com (or whatever registrar you go with) to your new hosting provider.
Cheers!
