Cancel domain

I am trying to cancel the domain that I created but am unable to go and find how to do it per your instructions. The settings tab does not come up for me to click on. The domain I want to cancel is yellowjacket football and cheer.

That is not a domain. Do you mean this one: http://yellowjacketfootballandcheer.wordpress.com/ ?
With cancel, do you mean you want to delete it? To delete your blog you must be logged in under the exact same username with which you created it. To prevent accidental deletion there will be multiple warnings that it cannot be reversed and you will have to click on a link in a confirmation email before your site will be deleted. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
I repeat: once you do this that URL will be gone forever. Not you nor anyone else will ever be able to register it again. Consider rather just setting it to private. That way no one can access it and if you later decide you want to use it again it will still be there. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

I was under the exact username as was unable to delete it. Still not sure how to do it. Been on and off it several times today trying to figure it out.

Go to your My Blogs page, here: https://yellowjacketfootballandcheer.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs
Hover your mouse over the blog’s title. A link should appear directly beneath the title saying Delete Blog.
If that link doesn’t appear, then you are not the owner of that blog. Either you registered it under a different account, or someone else registered it and added you as a user.

No one else registered it. I was trying the site out for my team and didn’t like the layout. I even responded to the email to confirm my email.
I am hovering over as you have informed me and all that comes up is change blog address and transfer blog -
I could have sworn the option used to be there. Possibly they changed it since I last looked. Possibly it was just too late last night my end when I told you that :)
If you see those options then you are the owner of the site, so you should then be able to delete it by going to Tools ->Delete Site in the dashboard. Try this direct link: https://yellowjacketfootballandcheer.wordpress.com/wp-admin/tools.php?page=delete-blog
