  If I cancel my domain name within 48 hours, is the name immediately released or is there a waiting period before it’s available?

  Hi.
  There is a waiting period from just a few days up to 80 days until that name would become available again. I know that’s a large time frame. If you want to re-register the cancelled domain, then just check daily for its availability and register it again once it becomes available. https://wordpress.com/start/domains
