cancel domain

    I’d like to cancel my domain at wordpress but I can’t find it in the ‘purchases’ menu.

    All your purchases will appears on your purchases area, if don’t appear, maybe you purchased with another account.

    Which domain do you want to cancel?

    1. What is the domain URL?
    2. What is the underlying .wordpress.com URL?
    3. Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade for it?
    4. When was the upgrade purchased?

    raphaelfranco.com is no longer registered with WordPress.com and you should not be charged for the subscription. Have you incurred a charge?

    I haven’t been charged and the domain raphaelfranco.com is lo longer active. However, when I type the domain in any website that sells domain I get a message saying that the domain is already taken.

    Hi there,

    I see what you are referring to. That warning is still there because the domain is registered with WWD but does not have a registration subscription. That message will go away in a few days as the registration with WWD updates. It shouldn’t affect your account or you access to raphaelfrancoart.wordpress.com.

    Just wanted to give you a quick update on this request.

    When you cancel a domain, it doesn’t become available immediately. It goes through an expiration process, which is a long and complex process that typically takes around 80 days.

    You can learn more about this here:

    Domain Expiration

    During this process, your domain may be sold to another party at auction or on back order.

    If you’d like to continue using this domain, I’d strongly encourage you to let us check to see if it can be restored to your account here.

    If not, I’d suggest waiting out the expiration process, so roughly 80 days. If your domain is not sold to another party, it will return to the available pool and you’ll be able to register it again.
