  I would like to detach and cancel my domain/account purchased through wordpress.com

  WP.com: Yes
  Jetpack: No
  Correct account: Yes

  Good morning.
  I have gone ahead and cancelled the domain biolet.ca as well the wordpress.com site associated with it as it had expired. The domain biolet.ca remains parked and I would like to cancel the domain as well so we can re-purchase the domain outside of WordPress.com as we are now hosting a WordPress site not a WordPress.com site.

  Hi there,

  When a domain is canceled it is returned to the domain registry and is no longer under our control. However, it does not go on sale to the public right away, instead there is a lengthy redemption process of several months where the domain is offered at wholesale auction before it is released. We cover that here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/#what-happens-when-my-domain-expires

  At the moment your domain apears to be within the grace period where we can recover it without the $80 late fee, so you would only need to pay the renewal fee for the domain itself. Once the domain is recovered we can discuss the options you have for using it with a site you have with another provider, but for now nothing is possible until the domain is recovered.

  Hi, I’ve successfully restored your domain. You can now change its DNS settings and point it to a different host. Here’s how to do that:
