Cancel domain

I would like to cancel this domain and open another as an anonymous blog (unless there is another way to do this vs. cancelling.)

You don’t own any domains on WordPress.com. What is the domain you are trying to cancel?
If you’re speaking of your free address, http://janeysjoorney.wordpress.com/, you can delete the site or change the address from My Site ->Settings. Please note that deleting a site permanently removes the address from our system and you won’t be able to use it again.

Thanks so much – I appreciate the feedback. I did delete the free address/site, but would like to remove the janeysjoorney name from my account.
In addition, I would like to remove this name from my Gravatar account, which seems impossible. Will you please help?

You can change your username via your account settings:
https://wordpress.com/me/account/
During the process you’ll be asked if you want to keep the old username or delete it completely. As with deleting a site, if you discard this username it will not be available for anyone else to use in future, including you.

Your Gravatar account and your WordPress.com account are one and the same. Changing your username (or any other profile info) on WordPress.com, automatically also changes it on Gravatar.

Thanks so much! That worked, but I messed by selecting “no” don’t change blog address. I do want to, b/c I don’t want that old username in my blog address that’s been changed to a new username.
Is it possible to change the blog address to new username after changing the user name?

Yes, if you go to My Site ->Domains and click on the free address you’ll see the option to change the address there.

Thank you again – I really appreciate it. My Site has been deleted, but I do not want my old username to be part of the blog URL or out there in “internet land”.
When I go to “My Site”, I get the opening page “You don’t have any WordPress sites yet…to get started…”
Where can I find this page to change the blog address to ensure that is cleared as well?

If you’ve already deleted the old address, there is nothing to change. That address doesn’t exist any more.
