Cancel Domain for Refund

    Hello, I just purchased a domain name and want to cancel. I would like to register with another host as this is too expensive. Thank you. This is the second domain I’m cancelling on this account.

    You can cancel a domain and receive a refund within 48 hours of purchase. See this page for instructions on how to cancel and request a refund.

    Hi there,

    I see you’ve already cancelled your domain and closed your WordPress.com account completely, so I’m closing this thread to further replies. Please note, though, that cancelled domains are not released immediately and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before you’ll be able to register the domain somewhere else. You should never cancel a domain you still want to use.

    If you would like to try and restore the domain to your account, please reply to the account closure email we sent you for more help.

    Please don’t advise people to cancel a domain they still want to use. Worst-case scenario cancelling a domain can cause someone to lose it completely, and there’s no guarantee they’ll be able to register the same domain somewhere else again.
