Cancel domain mapping and refund $13

  • Unknown's avatar

    I was recently charged $13 for domain mapping after I had already deleted my blog. I also had turned off auto renewal before deleting the blog and yet I was charged the $13 anyways. I would like this money refunded.

    Hi dbresnickcpa, I’ve tagged this thread for staff assistance so someone should be able to help you soon. (It’s a good idea to make sure you’re subscribed to the topic so you receive an update when it comes.)

    @dbresnickcpa
    Not Staff assistance is required to disable auto-renew and apply for a refund.

    Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrades, you can disable auto-renew Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades > Disable auto-renew

    WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.
    Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrades, you can request a refund yourself directly from the Store section of your Dashboard
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/upgrades/#refunds
    Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

    @lettergrade, thank you.

    @timethief you obviously did not read my previous post on a different thread. I do not have that option. It is nowhere on my dashboard.

    I turned off autorenewal and then deleted my entire blog. My blog is now hosted on my own domain so my dashboard is actually through wordpress.org and there is no Store > My upgrades etc… In fact, when I log into wordpress.com my account is completely blank as if I never had a blog in the first place.

    If that option is not in your dashboard then the questions that arise are:
    How many username accounts do you have?
    Which one registered the blog in question?
    What is the URL of the blog in question?
    You must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to gain access.

    As the blog has been deleted visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
    and click the “Need More Help” link and complete the form for account recovery.

    Hi there,

    I will be more than happy to help out, however it doesn’t appear that the $13 was purchased on this account. Do you have another account which you’ve created at WordPress.com or email address which you’ve associated with an account that I can search for?

    Let me know and I’ll see what I can do!
