Cancel Domain Mapping Inquiry

    Hi, I just canceled my domain mapping membership but I wanted to know what happens to my domain name? It says its not available for purchase when I do a search on it, so is it still mine or does it just take a few to show as available for purchase through a domain buying website?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi, canceling your domain mapping membership with WordPress only causes your blog to revert to the original name (theeclecticchef.wordpress.com).

    You would still retain ownership of your domain name at the site where you purchased it (like godaddy, bluehost, namecheap, etc.).

    I’m currently mapping my domain name at perkinsdesigns.com.

    Hi there,

    It looks like your domain, eclectic-blog.com, is registered with wildwestdomains.com. Cancelling the mapping here did not cancel your domain registration with them, as @flyingdisc also pointed out. You need to contact wildwestdomains to make any changes to the domain itself.
