Cancel domain name
-
Hi, I setup my wordpress account and paid for the personal plan today (along with domain name jwlettering.com). However, I’d like to cancel my plan and domain name, and tried to follow the instructions provided on the website, but unsure of it went through.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can confirm if your cancellation went through or not from your billing history page at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing/
However, I’ll tag this thread for the attention of the support team for further assistance.

Thanks for the reply.
The “personal bundle” is refunded, but not the full amount. Also, will I be able to use this same domain name elsewhere? I only signed up for it today, and want to also cancel it today.

Hi jwlettering,
Both your domain and plan have been cancelled.
Also, will I be able to use this same domain name elsewhere?
As the domain was cancelled so soon after registration, it should be released in around 5 days. You can then register it elsewhere.
The other option is I can restore the domain and it can be transferred to another registrar 60 days after the registration date — this 60 day lock is required by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and cannot be waived.
There would be no extra charge for this option as the domain cost hasn’t been refunded yet.
Which option would you prefer? If you would rather re-register the domain after it has been released, just let me know and I can issue a refund.
Thanks!

Hi Gemma,
Thanks so much for the reply. No need to restore transfer, I will wait 5 days for the domain to be released.
Please go ahead and issue a refund.
Thank you!

Hi jwlettering,
Thanks for confirming. I’ve refunded the domain cost and there is a copy of the refund receipt in your Billing History:
https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing
Refunds usually take 7-14 business days to show on your statement, although international refunds (outside the US) can take a little longer).
Come back to me if you need anything else.
Thanks!
