cancel domain question

if I cancel my domain. Can I then upload the domain to an external host and start a brand new website all over again outside of WP? my domain is deepsouthconsutling.com (this is how the browser shows it) but it’s actual deepsouthconsulting.wordpress.com and I want that domain back to go and build an actual site not a blog site.

If we cancel your domain, it can take up to several weeks for our domain registrar to release it, and we can’t guarantee that your domain will be available to you again once canceled.
If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site, using the Domain Administration tool under Store > Domains, at the bottom of the page.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-management/Since you mentioned wanting a website rather than a blog, did you know that you can have a website hosted on WordPress.com that is not a blog? It all depends on your theme, and how you set up the site.

yes, I would love some help setting up a non-blog website. I really just want to be able to use plug-ins and features that I have when I have downloaded Fantistico to my other sites. Can I do that??

You cannot use plugins on WordPress.com, so if there’s functionality in a plugin that you need that we don’t offer here on WordPress.com, then a self-hosted WordPress site might be the way to go.
What are you specifically trying to achieve?
