Cancel domain – URL revert to .wordpress.com?

My above domain has recently expired, and I want to cancel the domain, but not lose the content of the blog. I’m wondering if I actively cancel the domain, will the blog still exist, and just be housed at wemeatagain.wordpress.com or will it disappear entirely? Is there a way to cancel the domain without losing the content? I don’t mind losing the domain URL itself.

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The content will not be lost but every domain URL to your content in search engine results and everywhere on the internet will no longer link to it. All the links will be broken and produce a 404 (page not found) when clicked.

The URLs will revert to .wordpress.com URLs. All authority and pagerank the blog earned under the domain URL will be gone and it will take about 3 months or so for search engines to index the content again under the .wordpress.com URLs.
