  I would like to shut down my account.
  Anyone know how to do this?

  Hi there,

  Have a look here for the steps to be taken care of while closing an account : https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/

  Also, If you close your account, all the sites you own will be deleted, and you will not be able to use the same site address again with another account.
