Cancel my auto-plan of domain

    Dear whom may concern,

    I am writing a request to cancel my auto-renew for my domain. I decided to no longer use this domain, and I am just wondering that would I still able to get a refund of that or how is the process working on?

    WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.

    Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrades, you can request a refund yourself directly from the Store section of your Dashboard, and also request a refund and disable auto-renew there.

    Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received. However, in this case it appears you made the purchase 11 months ago.

    Thank you for your reply. Since I just received a email from paypal that I have been authorized a payment to wordpress.com. And, I just want to cancel the auto-renew for my domain.

    I did try to cancel the upgrade for the domain and it said “contact support”.

    Hi there,

    I understand you would like to cancel/refund your custom domain: virginia-lam.com, but please note that this is different from other upgrades and is stated during the purchase process.

    Canceling a domain at this time means you completely give up ownership of the domain. There is no guarantee the domain will become available to re-register after cancellation.

    You are welcome to keep your domain with us and update the nameservers to point to another hosting provider by following this guide:

    After 60 days from the date of purchase or registrant contact information change, you may also transfer your domain to another registrar by following this guide:

    Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar

    If you would like to completely cancel your ownership of the domain name, please reply to confirm.

    Hi Grace,

    Thank you for your reply. Yes, I would love to cancel my ownership of the domain name, and just wondering that would I still able to get a refund of the payment that I just paid for the domain?

    I did not know that it it auto-renew for my domain, and I just checked the payment has been sent to WordPress.com already.

    Hi Virginia,

    Yes you can get a refund as it’s been within 48 hours. I have canceled the domain. Please note that it may take up to a week for the refund to show up in your bank account.
