Cancel my domain ASAP. Getting the runaround from WordPress- no contact info!??!

I want to cancel! How can I do this?
All I can find is links to more places to post to the community. Well, I don’t want to talk to the community- I want to talk to the WordPress people who bill me! Cancel my domain ASAP. I was NEVER notified of any renewal coming up and then suddenly I was charged a fee online with the date of Aug. 20, 2013. I would like a refund of that amount too since I never got the change to OPT OUT of renewing. Thanks.

Hi there. Domains are set to auto-renewal by default to prevent your site from becoming inoperable. This should’ve been mentioned

Since the domain was renewed within the last two days, you can cancel it and request a refund by going to Store > My Upgrades and click the Cancel link next to your domain.

Or, if you’d like, you can keep the domain renewed for this year, and turn off auto-renewal so you don’t get a surprise charge next year. You’ll want to keep track of when your domain expires, though, so your site doesn’t go down.

In the future, If you’d like to contact Staff directly, you can fill out the contact form at http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ and they’ll get back to you as soon as they can. There are staff members all around the world, so someone should be available to help you quickly.

Thank you. I sincerely appreciate your response.
But that link is the same old one that was driving me crazy- it says it just posts to the community… I’ve already filled it out 2x now, that’s how my question got posted here. And I did go to Store>My upgrades and there was NO cancel link as the FAQs indicated there would be (I did read a lot on the WordPress site before filling out the form 2x) and as you state.

So, what gives? Why can’t there be a tech support link that doesn’t post publicly to the world? And there’s no email address, no phone number- clearly WordPress is trying to crowdsource questions. Which can work, or it can be frustrating as it was for me since I ended up going in circles.
Why can’t WordPress make billing simpler? Why can’t there be a reminder email at least once a year about billing/renewals?
My husband and I both have now dedicated a lot of time to trying to figure this one out. I think we have cancelled it, but still… Argh!!!
I know I’m not alone in this because I began my odyssey of frustration by googling and lots of similarly frustrated posts appeared…

When you fill out the the form at the contact us page, it should give you the option to select posting the question as either “public” or “private.” Private questions can only be read by WordPress.com staff members. You must be logged into the WordPress.com account you used to purchase a premium upgrade (domain mapping included) in order to post privately.

In any case, I’ve flagged this thread for a staff member to assist you. Please be patient for a reply as most of the Staff are US based.
