Cancel plan but keep domain

  Hello,
  I have been trying to use WordPress for a couple months to run our website and it’s just not going well. It’s not you, it’s me. I’m not tech savvy enough to figure out the ins and outs of CMS, and we have a lot of other aspects of the business that need attention. Someone has volunteered to run our website for us but is not comfortable using WordPress. I do not need a refund, I’m happy to let you keep the year payment. But it looks like the domain is not registered to me personally. How can I use a different CMS to run our website with the domain we paid for?

  When we need Staff help with issues Volunteers cannot resolve like this one we type modlook into the sidebar tags on our forum threads.   If you’d like to use your domain with a new web host, you’ll first need to find out what settings your web host requires for your domain.

  If you have trouble locating the settings within your web host’s support documentation, be sure to contact them for assistance.

  If they require name servers (also sometimes called “NS records”), you can change those by following this guide:

  Change a Domain’s Name Servers

  If they require A records, we have a separate guide:

  Point a Domain to an External IP Address

  It can take up to 72 hours for the changes to take effect, though it usually takes just a few hours.
