Cancel Premium

I’m trying to cancel my premium subscription and domain mapping, but when I click the confirm link I’m getting an error message ‘There was a problem canceling your purchase. Please contact support for more information.’ Is there any way I can get the cancellation confirmed and get my refund?

There are three questions you need to answer yourself:
1. What is the exact URL of the wordpress.COM hosted site in question?
2. Exactly which wordpress.COM username account registered it?
3. Exactly which wordpress.COM username account purchased the upgrade?
Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard and cancel any upgrade.
WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.
The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours. https://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades
Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.
Provided you are logged in under the exact same username account that purchased the upgrade, and you are within the allowed time frame for refunds, you can cancel and request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades

3. lulumuparkgmailcomI was logged in when I tried to cancel the upgrade, and I received an error message directing me to contact support. So it doesn’t seem that my refund request was even confirmed. I did try to do this two weeks ago, and when I didn’t see a refund I tried to request the refund again.

This isn’t really helpful, but I am experiencing the same problem. I click the confirmation to cancel link from my e-mail, and am routed back to https://wordpress.com/purchases/cancel-problem with the following error message: “There was a problem canceling your purchase. Please contact support for more information.”
When I go to Settings and just try to delete the site, I’m told I need to cancel my purchases first. So it’s like an infinite loop. I searched online and in the forums and couldn’t find an answer to this issue, if it is indeed an issue. I tried this in Chrome and Firefox, with the exact same results.
I opened a topic, but haven’t heard back. Thought I’d write here since there was at least some response – https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/trying-to-cancel-recurring-purchase?replies=1.

Hi @lulumuparkgmailcom, I’ve removed these upgrades. The refund part is giving me just a bit of trouble, but no worries — we’ll fix it. I’ll let you know when that’s done. Cheers!

@wangstarrrr, did you want to keep the domain and get rid of Premium, or are you cancelling the domain as well?

@wangstarrrr if I cancel the domain at this point, you will not be able to get it back anytime soon, even at another provider. If you plan to use it for another project, we’ll want to help you transfer it instead. But if you’re okay losing the domain, quite possibly permanently, we’ll go ahead and cancel it. Please confirm!
