cancel premium plan but keep domain name

  Hi,

  I have built a new website using a different website provider and so would like to cancel my premium wordpress plan but keep my domain name and use for the new site. Do I need to transfer my domain to a different host or can I keep paying for (and hosting) my domain on wordpress and just map it to my new site? How do I cancel my premium while keeping the domain?

  I can help you with that. Do you mind if I jut cancel WordPress.com Premium now?

  You can point a WordPress.com registered domain to your new webhost using these instructions:

  Change a Domain’s Name Servers

  Or you can transfer it to another registrar using these instructions:

  Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar

  Thank you! If I cancel my premium plan will I lose my domain name? can I downgrade to the personal plan and keep the domain that way?

  If you are leaving WordPress.com and just wish to keep your domain registration, you do not need any of the WordPress.com plans. You will just pay $18/yr for your domain registration.

  EXACTLY WHAT IS THE PROCESS for cancelling my premium plan but leaving my domain name with you as registrar?

  Head on over to wordpress.com/me/purchases/ and cancel the Premium Plan but not the domain. Let me know if you have any other questions about this process.
