Cancel private registration

  Hi – I am trying to move my domain and it is failing. I get this message:

  An important notice regarding your transfer

  Dear Clare Watson,

  The request to transfer the following domain name(s) to another registrar has been denied. The domain(s) currently has Private Registration

  :eddymaynard.com

  If you still want to transfer the domain(s) to another registrar, you must first cancel your Private Registration(s).

  Regards,(email visible only to moderators and staff)

  Please can you cancel the private registration so I can complete the transfer?

  Hello!

  To resolve the issue, you must first deactivate the transfer lock in your domain settings. You can find detailed instructions on how to do this in the following support document: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/transfer-domain-registration/

  Hi – we did all that, unlocked the transfer lock and followed the process. However we get this message that the ‘private registration needs to be cancelled’.

  Hi @claremwatson – Can you try to walk back through the process one more time? I’m wondering if the changes to the domain didn’t need a little time to propagate. If after going back through the transfer process it still does not work, let us know please. Thanks so much for your patience.

  Hi there! I’m currently in the same boat as @claremwatson – I’m trying to transfer my domain however it failed because of the private registration. I found a toggle button with “Privacy protection on” and tried to switch it off but it won’t disable. What to do?

  Made a 2nd attempt. It hasn’t failed yet – I’m not sure if I did anything differently but fingers crossed!
