Cancel Private Registration

    Dear all,

    Good morning!

I am trying to move my domain and it is failing. I get this message:

“The request to transfer the following domain name(s) to another registrar has been denied. The domain(s) currently has Private Registration:

    detalhesdeviagem.com

If you still want to transfer the domain(s) to another registrar, you must first cancel your Private Registration(s).

I did all the indicated process, unlocked the transfer lock and followed the process. However I get this message that the ‘private registration needs to be cancelled’.”

Please can you cancel the private registration so I can complete the transfer?

    Thank you!

  • Hey there,

We can certainly help get your domain transferred over. I see that the privacy protection for the detalhesdeviagem.com domain is set to off, and the domain currently has a status of pendingTransfer. This status generally means that the domain is in the process of transferring over to the new registrar. Generally, if a domain transfer fails the domain status will reflect this and no longer show that the transfer is pending.

As a first step, I recommend checking with your new registrar to ensure that the domain transfer has in fact, failed. If this is the case, the fastest way to move forward would be to cancel the transfer entirely and then initiate it again.

  • Additionally, to ensure the privacy protection for your domain is turned off, as we are seeing, you can set it to On once again and then switch it back to Off. While this is very much the domain equivalent of “turn it off and back on again,” sometimes this can help ensure the registrar reflects the domain setting.
