Cancel / refund domain registration

    Hello,

    I have registered a new domain and blog at WordPress, but now I want to host it somewhere else and I would like to request a refund. I have placed the order on WordPress on Jan/1 12:36 GMT, and right now is Jan/3 04:05 GMT, and therefore I am still within the 48-hour period.

    The support site says “Support is closed for the holidays, and will re-open on Monday January 3rd at 10AM GMT.”

    How can I contact support regarding this issue?

    Hi. I tagged this thread for staff attention, but if you contact them on January 3rd at 10 AM GMT, you will still be within the 48-hour timeframe, no?

    You would be better off to just change the name-servers to point to your new host – you are inside the 60 day ICAN transfer a domain window and just refunding and canceling I don’t think puts the name back into the pool for a while – and you also run the risk of someone else getting the name while you wait to re-register the name after it comes into the pool – WordPress.com is a low cost registrar and after the 60 day period you can transfer the name anywhere you want – this way you can have your site up and running in a day or two.

    @auxclass: Good call. I had read too quickly, I guess. Removing the modlook then (but the OP is free to add it back).

    I will add it back as the OP should at least have one email with the Staff so the OP does not feel like they are hung out with no service –

    Staff – would you please refer the OP to the above information before canceling things as there is a downside as they want to start their site soon
