cancel subscription
-
I am trying to cancel my subscription–I went into manage my purchases and canceled. The auto-renew email stated that the next renewal will process on December 27, but the confirmation email stated that the subscription will end Jaunary 26. Please advise. Thank you!

Do you want to use the URL on another site?
Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard, cancel any upgrades, claim a refund for any qualified upgrades, and disable auto-renew.
Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrade, and you are within the allowed time frame for refunds, you can cancel and request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades. You can also disable auto-renew there. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades

Hi there
We process renewals a month before a subscription is due to expire so there is still time to sort things out, should there be a problem with your credit card. That is why you’re seeing the two different dates.
At this stage it’s not possible to completely cancel a subscription yourself, but I can confirm that you have cancelled the renewal so your subscription will expire in January unless you renew it manually. If you prefer to have it removed from your site completely, let me know and I’d be happy to do that for you.
As your subscription includes a custom domain I do have to caution you against letting it expire. Domain expiration can take as long as 80 days, at any time during which someone else can buy your domain at auction. From ten days after expiration there is also a recovery fee of $80 to get the domain back from the registrar.
The same goes for cancelling the domain – we cannot guarantee that it will become available again, nor that you’ll be able to register it elsewhere.
If you want to keep using this domain I can help you transfer it to another host or registrar – this must be done before the domain expires.
Please let me know how you would like to proceed.
