Cancel subscription but keep domain

    I recently signed up for a paid subscription and that came with a free domain name registration.

    If I would like to cancel my subscription but keep my domain name, would I just need to go into the Purchases section and cancel the subscription plan? Will that affect the domain registration in any way?

    Hi there,

    You can absolutely use your custom domain with your WordPress.com site with or without a paid plan. You should be able to cancel the plan subscription and keep the domain under purchases.

    One of the features of all of our paid plans is to allow users to set their custom domain as primary. So, without the plan, tipsandmusings.com
    will be forwarded to https://tipsandmusings.wordpress.com/ and will the address visible to visitors. If your custom domain is not primary, people will still end up at your site if they type your custom domain into the address bar.
