    Hi there,

Without confirmation of ownership, we won’t be able to cancel the subscription.

Do you have any information that we can use to verify ownership?

If you could please fill out our account recovery form, we’ll definitely get in touch with you as soon as possible and try to figure this out.

Please visit our support page for more information on recovering your account.

    Thanks!

Hello. The situation is the following: I created the account and the website for a business I was working for. At the time, I paid all fees through my personal bank account. However, I no longer work for them and since I left, which has been a whilw ago, the passwords have been changes so I no longer have access to the account or website. I don’t want to retain this account, as it is currently being used by somebody else and I have no issue with that. However, my bank details have been used to pay for the yearly renewal of the website. So what I need done is either cancelling the transaction, or at least making sure my bank details are not used again in the future for this account.
Can you tell me what kind of information you need to prove (past) ownership? I have the original password as I created the account, and I also have all the details of the bank accoint that was used for the payments.
Please let me know of my options in this situation, as I don’t want to be left paying for an account that is not longer in my use.

    Hey there,

You might want to look back in your records to see if you still have the transaction confirmation from the last time the domain hermanoswembley.com was purchased at WordPress.com, back in 2016-07-28.

All our payments are processed by PayPal (even if you paid directly with a credit card).

PayPal can provide you with this transaction ID, which we can then verify on our end. It’s a 17-digit number. You can reach them at:

    1-888-221-1161
1-402-935-2050 (if calling from outside the U.S.)

You can find additional ways to contact PayPal here:

    https://www.paypal.com/us/contactus

When contacting PayPal, please have the following details of the transaction ready:

    – Name on card
    – Amount and date of transaction
    – Card number

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

@sstefaniat Just adding to what staff-doublebassd said above. When you have the transaction information from PayPal, do not post it here in these public forums, which are crawled and indexed by search engines, but only on the account recovery form. Thanks!

Update: I now have the IDs for both last year’s and this year’s transactions. What should I do now? As I said, I do not want to recover the account, as it is being used by someone else – all I want is a refund (if possible) and to make sure my bank account is no longer used for this wordpress account.
    Apprecite your help!

Hello again, if you haven’t resolved this yet, you’ll need to fill out the account recovery form that staff-doublebassd mentioned in his earlier reply in order to confirm ownership.

Hello. I filled it out and a message came up saying I will receive another ‘lost password form’, although I’ve received nothing so far. Can somebody confirm whether my account recovery form has been received by wordpress?

    Hi there,

I don’t see any account recovery tickets for either your email address, or the one on the other account, so looks like it didn’t go through for some reason. Instead, I’ve sent you an email to help with this. Please reply there with the transaction IDs and we’ll see what we can do.
