Hello,
I just transferred m site to Squarespace and the original content did not get transferred over. Can I cancel the transfer so I can import it properly?
Thanks,

You won’t need to alter the domain to transfer your content.
Instead, export following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/export/ and follow Squarespace’s import instructions.

Hello,
I was unable to export the content from WordPress when it successfully transferred over to Squarespace because when I clicked on import/export, it would say page unavailable.
Is there a way for me to get a refund for me switching it back? I’m about to go through the process again of transferring the domain.
Thanks for your help.
Best,

Hi Shaneika, are you using https://wordpress.com/support/export/ to export the site, or do you have another link?
And if you have another link, can you send that?

Hi,
I was using that link, but I already successfully transferred the domain so I didn’t have access to the content anymore after the fact. Because I was unaware that I had to import/export the content. It kept giving me an error message when I tried to export saying that it was unavailable because it was owned by Squarespace.

Is there a way you guys can unlock the domain on your end? I was advised I might not have access to transfer it 60 days, but wanted to know if it was possible.
Thanks.

Hi there,
It kept giving me an error message when I tried to export saying that it was unavailable because it was owned by Squarespace.
To clarify, you are trying to export your site from WordPress to Squarespace or from Squarespace to WordPress?
I ask because you mentioned in your initial post:
I just transferred m site to Squarespace and the original content did not get transferred over.
But, you mentioned that error message sounds like it is coming from Squarespace and I see that shaneikahope.com was transferred to us successfully yesterday. So, it appears you wanted to cancel the domain transfer from Squarespace to WordPress and therefore you were trying to import your content away from Squarespace to WordPress, not export content away from WordPress.
Let me know if that is the case – I would reach out to Squarespace regarding your content if you no longer have access to it.
Is there a way you guys can unlock the domain on your end? I was advised I might not have access to transfer it 60 days, but wanted to know if it was possible.
That 60 day transfer lock is mandatory per ICANN policy , so there is nothing we can do to lift that time. However, you can still use the domain by pointing the nameservers over to Squarespace from WordPress.com until 60-day transfer lock is lifted.
I do believe that we can get your content over to WordPress.com if you are able to retrieve it from Squarespace. It just sounded like there was a little confusion as to where the content was moving to and from. Please let me know if that is the case.
Thanks!
