Cancel/delete old (2009) WordPress.com blog
-
Am launching a new WordPress website for educational purposes and as a crowd funding vehicle. That website is https://www.thehumanaccelerator.org Need to shut down, cancel and delete the old two page blog https://thehumanaccelerator.wordpress.com I put up. The old WordPress account has not been used since that day I put it together.

All blogs are independent websites. What you do on one has NO impact on others. To delete a WordPress.COM hosted blog you must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to navigate to Dashboard > Tools > Delete Site. The guide is here http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
IMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting blogs and/or blog content or making the site private does not remove indexed content from the SERPs (search engine page results) and we cannot help with that. Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months. To completely remove an entire page from Google search results after it produces a 404 (page not found):

https://wordpress.com/settings/delete-site/NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com*Replace “NAME_OF_BLOG” with the actual name of the blog in the URL above.
If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into another account

Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made except for the one stated here http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
To empty site content and keep the URL see here https://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/
Alternatively, to change blog visibility to Private go to > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3. See the guide here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings

I appreciate the info…the problem is it was 7 years ago…I did not save any of the old account info…had to go back into construction…even the old email account account contact is long gone…went out of business…
If I were able to get into the original dashboard I would have done all the things you’ve listed…
I don’t understand why the blog would still be up after all these years and no activity on that account.

That’s not relevant as no sites are deleted on the basis of inactivity here. Please use the account recovery link I provided.

Good because there is a single means of account recovery and Account Recovery Staff frequently have a backlog.

I sent in request for account recovery and just hope the current email address I have is the same as when I put up that blog post…
