Cancel/disconnect my domain mapping

  • Unknown's avatar

Hey I bought a domain elsewhere and bought a WordPress premium plan and mapped the domain to it. After a few days I decided to finish my paid plan and move to a self-hosted wordpress site instead. However even though I’ve cancelled the plan the mapping has not been cancelled, as in ‘my site’ under my username it still says it. It also won’t let me delete my website, I think because of the mapped domain, when I wish to. How can I disconnect this mapping and delete my site please?

    I would contact support.

  • Hi there,

It appears that you filed a chargeback with your bank against us for part of your payment, instead of contacting us for a refund. When you file a chargeback against us you are accusing us of fraud, which causes the funds to be frozen and your site to be locked. You can see more information here:

    Chargebacks & Disputes

You won’t be able to delete that site until you either pay the chargeback fee on your account, or cancel the dispute against us. If you cancel the dispute in time I’ll be able to restore your site so you can delete it, and then we can refund your payment. However, if you don’t cancel the dispute, or it’s already too far along in the process, you’ll need to pay the chargeback fee to unlock your site, and you’ll only receive your refund once our payment processor concludes their investigation into the dispute – a process that can take upwards of eight weeks.

Telling someone to contact support if they’re already posting in the support forums is not a very helpful response. I suggest you read our volunteer guidelines for some more info on how the forums work and the best ways to help here :)
