Canceled Business Upgrade, reverted to free instead of premium

  We decided to try the business plan for a week to see what it was like, if third party plugins could be useful, etc. We decided we didn’t like it and canceled, and now we’re back in free mode, and not premium. We paid for a year of premium, and upgraded to business. The upgrade should be canceled, not our premium, right?

  Hi there,

  When you upgraded to Business the Premium Plan was replaced with Business. Business wasn’t added in addition to Premium. So if you cancel, you cancel the only plan that is currently on your site.

  Only staff can help you with a downgrade, so the better option here would have been to contact us on live chat so we could help with that. But I can help you with it now.

  We will need to revert your site back to what it was before you installed any plugins, so any content you’ve added since then will be lost. Can you please confirm whether or not you’ve added any content during this time? If so, I’ll first need to export it so I can import it again after I revert your site.

  I’ll also need your domain reconnected to your site in order to do any of this. I see the domain is currently pointed at Hostgator. Please point the name servers back to WordPress.com and reply here to confirm, then I can get the process started.

  I did not add any content to the site after the upgrade besides plugins. I cannot adjust the nameservers until this weekend. Can you keep the ticket open until then?

  Also, it wasn’t really clear what the downgrade path would be when we signed up for the business upgrade.

  To downgrade your site so it can go back to the Premium Plan we first need to reconnect the old domain, mammothvision.com. But once I’ve completed the downgrade for you, you can use the free domain in Premium to connect or register a different domain, yes.

  Thanks. Your site is now back to the free address, mammothvisioncom.wordpress.com, and has the Premium Plan active. You can use the free domain in your Premium Plan to now connect the new domain you want to use. You can point the other domain elsewhere again if you want to.
